Samvardhini-Sanskrit Propogation Programme.
In this programme we invite Schools from Chennai city to involve in this unique opportunity. We understand there is a much felt need for Sanskrit amongst school going children who are eager to imbibe their ancient traditions and it is a fact that Sanskrit being an important medium towards this end is becoming a much demanded subject.
Through Samvardhini our more than 118 year old institution encourages the Sanskrit teacher of the schools who are taking part in this programme with an incentive per level or exam for schools who register a minimum of 10 students per level.
Further for the first three toppers of each school we are awarding Rs.500, Rs.300, Rs.200 respectively for each exam.
More thasn 2100 students have taken part in this programme in 2010.
We are now proposing to take Sanskrit to poor children through our Samvardhini programme. We will provide teachers to these schools to which such children go and sustain their Sanskrit learning for a prolonged period. After observing and selecting the best among them we will provide scholatships for career oriented courses to equip these students for a successful life. Some of them who are interested will be provided research scholarships to study Ubhaya Vedanta scriptures and translate and comment on hitherto untouched granthas thereby fulfilling our mission of propagation of Ubhaya Vedanta.
